I agree. Call AppleCare about it. If you have the warranty they'll pick up the tab. I have extensive experience with how this process works. They ship you a box and you send in the portable. Then they fix it and send it back. When you call the number they will be able to tell if it's still in warranty. Be sure and ask for the case number. The turn around is pretty incredible for mail. Airborne Express overnight, and all that...
