I have an IDE 24X CD ROM drive in my G3 333, doing a pretty good job at that speed so I am yet not ready for upgrade (or for the expense!). In my 8500 I have a third party 24X SCSI drive that is also a burner that works great. Since I am not burning things in the 8500 anymore, cause most of my stuff is here, can I put the 8500's drive in here? My IDE 24X drive is bootable and if I remember correctly the 8500's drive is not. Will it be unbootable in the G3 as well? (does it need Apple rom? Anyway if all else fails I may find a cheap IDE burner in ebay but it may have to wait till the beginning of next month.
