So, lets say you are using CF 256meg cards as storage. How safe is the data over time?
If you are looking for data transfer, the USB option, media cards, and zip are going to do the job.
If your are looking for safe data storage, the only way to go is with CD-R for archival.
CDRW mediums have a harder time transferring from one drive to another drive due to the difference in the opacity of the medium. CDRW is about 20% less.
Either way, burning you data to a CD will protect your data from loss due to magnetic fields or electrical shocks such as static discharges.
