Generally speaking RAM slots are "backwards compatible" of sorts. Hey, the old saying: If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I bought a 512MB PC 133 DIMM (originally intended for a G4). For grins I stuck it in my B/W G3. It worked fine, but my Mac only saw the first 256 MB of the DIMM because that's all the board can handle.

My question (finally): How come, if Apple specify PC 100 can I use the Mac
with PC 66 RAM and it hasn't crashed once ???
