I have a G4/933 which refuses my attempts at indexing the contents. It gives me a fixed readout which refuses to budge:
Status: Indexing
Date: -- (just the dashes)
(greyed out progress bar)
Stop Indexing (always in black) Delete Index (always greyed out)Impossible to index any folder on this drive or the drive itself.
I created an external Firewire back-up drive with a fresh OS 10.2 Install. No problem at all with indexing.
I went back & ran DiskWarrior as well as Apple's Disk Utility & repaired permissions on the main drive.
No change. Problem still there.
Any idea how to get indexing working?
