Here in Sweden we have three phases drawn into our houses and they are shared out among the house's points and equipment so it's a little difficult to select one, but I could alwys change the phase for that specific plugpoint.
I may investigate some sort of filter...

A power surge, on the line it's plugged into? Otherwise, perhaps something
inside the case is lose, and being blown into the case by the fan, in such a
way that it creates the "buzz" you hear? But, you said you heard a similar
sound, in the Sawtooth, so maybe there's something "buzzing" near the CPU,
in such a way that you think it's coming from the CPU?
If both are making the same noise, at regular intervals, check that you're
not plugged into a line that also has some sort of auto-start device. At one
time, the Macs mom and I have used were on the same line that the
refrigerator was plugged into. I'm guessing that's what killed the PSU, in
my old AIO case, as well as the Apple 15" MultiScan monitor that we were
using with mom's Performa 6360. Dad and I put installed a 4-outlet box, and
dedicated line to the breaker box, and the only time my Mac and equipment is
bothered, now, is with brownouts...no UPS, so we're screwed, if it's a
blackout.
