Ian, the only way to see USB 2.0 speeds is, to install a USB 2.0 card AND
Mac OS X. In Classic, a USB 2.0 card will only work at USB 1.0 speeds. It
wouldn't hurt to have a USB 2.0 card already sitting in the PCI slot, if
you're planning to use OS X anytime in the future.

I currently have a Sonnet Tango USB 2.0/FireWire (400) combo card installed,
but am only using OS 9.1 as my OS. Even when I had OS X 10.2 installed,
several months ago, my peripherals are still USB 1.0.
