You may do better to write to the iMac list for questions about them, but
sounds like steve knows what he's talking about. iMacs just weren't designed
w/ hardware upgrades in mind like the G-3's were.
 Looking for the address I learned that the imac list now has about 500
subscribers vs about 400 for the g-list.

As far as I'm aware there are no processor upgrades available for your DV
slot loading iMac, only for the older tray loaders. They had a removable
processor card, the DV doesn't.
The best you can do with your iMac DV is to max out the RAM and fit a larger
faster 7200 rpm hard disk, I did this to my DV 400.
