Beige g3 mac is acting angry when I have more than a
few applications open.
I assume these errors are memory related, but after adjusting the virtual memory to a higher setting, the errors didn't cease.
What do these errors mean? I've had type 1, type 2,
and type 3 now.
How do I go about reducing or eliminating these errors?
Provided you still have some memory available (a couple of Mbs say) when you are running programs increasing the virtual memory won't fix anything and may cause trouble (but not likely).
What might work is to increase the memory allocation to programs. Certain programs need this especially. Locate the application file, select it, go to the File Menu in Finder and select Get Info and then Memory. Increase the number at the bottom by 10-50%.
If your problems are repeatable then try disabling all the non OS extensions in Extension Manager. There is a choice for this in EM called something like OS 9 All.
