Yep - I've had just the same happen to mine more than once. It was cured by removing the PRAM battery overnight.It looks like my son's Beige G3/300 might have bit the big one. He was booted in OS 9 and powered it off normally. When he went to turn it back on, the G3 bonged, the monitor turned on and then went into standby. The OS 9 drive would not spin up. The OS X drive was spinning fine but it wouldn't boot.
He has also tried booting off the OS X install CD and the 9.2.2 CD with no luck. The G3 bongs normally like it should but the monitor always goes into standby and nothing else happens. He has tried other monitors and also the PCI video card and motherboard monitor connectors. Still nothing. Any suggestions?
