Hi all, Have seen over the last year many G3 owners asking about install problems for OS X.
Looks like that I am now the one to ask. Have a Beige G3 DT, 266 mhz, rev. C, a close to death SCSI 3 gig main drive with OS 9.1 on it, 320 MB memory and a USB 4 slot PCI card. Will have in a few days a ZIF 466 G4 processor. Got a ATA 13 gig drive, run it in the moment on my ATA Zip connection, I partitioned it to less then 8 gig and on the rest I installed 9.2.2. Installed OS X 10.1.2 on the first partition, on restart it looks fine, the smiling Mac comes up, the colored spinning wheel on the left top corner of the monitor. It goes like that for 2 minutes and the smiling Mac icon turns in to a folder icon, broken in the middle, the spinning wheel goes on but nothing happens. So, I cleaned out that 8 gig partition and booted with Jaguar, the smiling Mac comes up, the wheel is spinning for a minute and then the monitor turns black and will stay like that. Luckily, I still can go back to my OS 9.1 or OS 9.2.2. Anybody have an idea how to get OS X going on that machine? Franz Bangkok -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
