I haven't stress-tested it too much yet (other than to start picking up
Carbon programming as a means to port stuff from Windows), but Mac OS X has
never crashed on me on a 266-MHz beige G3. (It's currently equipped with
256 megs of RAM, 30 gigs of 5400-rpm IDE disk, CD-ROM and Zip drives, a
no-name RTL8139x Fast Ethernet NIC, a USB2/FireWire combo card (I think it's
the one put out by Siig, but I could be wrong), and a flashed no-name PCI
Radeon VE clone. If I need to burn a disk from it, I have a Pioneer DVD
burner in a FireWire case that it can use.)
