I am trying to install Jaguar on a beige G3 233 desltop with a revision A rom. OS 9.2 is currently on the hard drive. The machine will boot from the OS 9.2 hard drive as well as the OS 9 install CD fine. I put disk one of OSX into the machine and the CD opens up to the OS9 desktop fine. I clicked on the install icon and it tells me to restart the computer. Upon restart my monitor comes up that it is out of scan range. The monitor works fine otherwise. It is a Sony 15 inch multiscan. After doing some research on the web I've tried some things. All do not seem to work. One was zapping the pram on startup of the OSX CD. When I do this I get a happy Mac ion on the screen and then the screen goes black. When I let the keys go the out of scan message will come back when the monitor comes back on. I also tried holding the shift key down. Nothing seems to happen here. I also took out all but the first ram dimm of 64mb. That seems to make no difference too. As far as I can tell this machine should be able to run OSX. Anyone outhere have any suggestions?
