I'll reply for Dan.  The connections on your HP are not at all ADB or SCSI.
They are Mac (RS-422/Din-8) Serial and Parallel.

ADB is Apple Desktop Bus and is only used for keyboards and mice and has 4
pins.  Mac Serial is 8-pin and is used for printers, modems tablets etc.

The only reliable way to make that printer work on a unit that has no Serial
ports is to use PowerPrint which converts PC parallel standard printers to
USB.  It's cost prohibitive though.  The adapter costs more than most
printers do so it is more intelligent to buy a printer that will utilize
your Lombard's USB ports.  They are $60 and up, where the PowerPrint
adapters are almost always $75 and up.
