I have Blue and White G3 400mhz and 750 mg ram. System 9.2.1 I recently purchased an internal GV V90 modem. (v 2.211?)
Why the new modem? Doublecheck to make sure everything is seated and grounded properly?
98% of the time when I try to connect I get the following scenario. I get the handshake gets to PPP and remote access disconnects.
sometimes it gets to protocols before disconnecting. If it actually get to loading explorer or netscape I usually get.. "resolving" or "looking for" before it disconnects. Once in every 20 or so try it can stay connected.
Turn on verbose logging in Remote Access. Clear the current (old) log. Do your n dialups, until you get a stable one. Then export the whole log, stuff it, and email it directly to me. I'll take a look.
The phone line is fine.
You know this because?
Is there a preferred modem setting.. I have tried several. sometimes they work and sometimes not? Is there script to download?
You can fool with the scripts you have, to lock the modems speed a bit tighter. That might improve things... but that's just a bandaid that doesn't find or resolve the real problem.
