I have Blue and White G3 400mhz and 750 mg ram. System 9.2.1
I recently purchased an internal GV V90 modem. (v 2.211?)
98% of the time when I try to connect I get the following scenario. I get the handshake
gets to PPP and remote access disconnects.
sometimes it gets to protocols before disconnecting. If it actually get to loading
explorer or netscape I usually get..
"resolving" or "looking for" before it disconnects.
Once in every 20 or so try it can stay connected.
The phone line is fine.
Is there a preferred modem setting.. I have tried several. sometimes they work and sometimes
not? Is there script to download?

My B&W suffers a similar problem with the internal modem that came with it when bought. I reckon that 25% of the time it works first time; the other 75% of the time it fails at the PPP stage but is guaranteed to work if I try immediately afterwards.
The CRT iMac in the other room connects without a hitch every time and is connected to the same line, so I've always assumed it's to do with the B&W's modem.
