It was the *patched* version of 3.4p1. Also a whole new set of bigs with OpenSSH came out yesterday necessitating yet another patch.
They should roll that into the 'fixed' 10.2.8.
Yes I knew that but I was having some discomfort with their choice of patching the old instead of going with the new as I wrote in the Macintouch forum.
Old mac culture-itis I think. Trad UNIX people tend to sit on their hands before applying patches for just these reasons. In the past MacOS users jumped on patches with rare issue.
It is hard to change my mind-set. Looking for the latest instead of waiting for the problems. I guess it is up to Apple as to how well they do. Sun users definitely tend to wait.
