Dear Forum: I posted a message here a few days ago regarding a specific problem I am experiencing in OS X. Below is an update about what I have done thus far.
I am having a specific issue with OS X (10.2.6 to be precise). In a nutshell, I cannot engage Personal Web Sharing on my computer. All other Services under Sharing are working normally. I have posted messages to several email lists to which I belong, but thus far I have been unsuccessful in resolving my issue. Whenever I attempt to start Personal Web Sharing, it tries to start up and then stalls. I have examined Process Viewer to see if Personal Web Sharing shows up at all, but it never does. These are the things which I have tried to date: 1. I have restarted my computer to see if this resolves the issue, but it doesn't. 2. I have tried logging in and out and then back in again, but with the same result. 3. I have tried to create a new user, but with the new user the same situation prevails. 4. I have even dug deep into the bowels of OS X and replaced the httpd.conf file with its backup copy, but this hasn't resolved the issue either. 5. I have run Disk Utility to repair permissions. No change. 6. I have run Disk Warrior, but without result. So now I'm wondering what else I can do. Will an archive and install resolve this issue? Or will I need to do a completely fresh install of OS X? Any other perspectives and strategies you can offer would be most appreciated.
