A 64 bit card is (usually) not a problem in a Beige. The card
automatically detects it's not in a 64 bit slot.

I have a (64 bit) ATTO Express PCI UL2D, modified to include two internal
bus and two external bus connections, in my Beige.

The ATTO firmware FLASHer worked just fine for this card.

A potential problem with these cards is the usual internal SCSI port is
Bus 1, whereas the usual external SCSI port is Bus 0, and the card wants
to boot from Bus 0.

(Remember, these cards actually have two completely independent SCSI
controllers on them, and incorporate a PCI bridge chip, too. The presence
of the PCI bridge chip prevents the MacOS ROM from "seeing" the SCSI
controllers behind the bridge. Even ASP misidentfies these cards).

Adding a 68-pin connector to the card allowed for an internal connector
on Bus 0, which made the card bootable.

Adding a VHDCI 68-pin connector to the card allowed for an external
connector on Bus 1, and facilitated full use of the card.

These are fast, reliable cards.
