hi,

thanks for the suggestions so far.

suggestion 1 - ftp between mac/pc
i've tried this a get the same 'file cannot be found' errors i've
experienced when using smb file sharing - real pain!

suggestion 2 - key drive could be use to transfer files between the
computers.
been doing this with my other files! i've formatted my ipod for windows and
it works a treat as a portable disk between two platforms.

suggestion 3 - burn a cross platform disk from the mac
i can borrow a 'fast' burner from work - if i did this, would it preserve
file names ect?

if the names are preserved, i may go for option 3 - seems the easiest as i
don't need to copy the cd's data onto the pc, i simply need to convert the
disks.

as a side, i've just had to 'copy' the contents of a mac cd to the pc at
work. to do this i used drop zip to create a zip file of the complete cd.
this reduced it from 640mb to around 350mb and then i copied that using smb
file sharing from the mac to the pc.

worked a treat! saved on space as i just drag the files i need from the zip
archive and it was a smaller file to copy across. the 'file cannot be found'
errors didn't happen as it was just one zip.

cool!

thanks again for the responses,

cheers,

jake
