A Radeon 7000 Mac Edition card comes at $75-100. Is there other similar card (I'm after the resolution not to play Quake) that costs less?

If you are using OS X, no.
If you are using 9 or 8 there are a number of cards that can go high resolution with video acceleration. The Voodoo series seems to be the favorite for people looking for a good card. I have the Voodoo 3 3000 in my beige G3 at work for helping with screen redraws and faster display of photos.
You can get Voodoo cards on the swap list in the 25-35 range.
