Whoa, I bench marked my system using Xbench and I get REALLY slow disk access, I have a IBM Deskstar 307030 that is 7200 RPM and 30 GBs, I get a score of like 0.59 MB/sec or soemthing, very bad, what speed is the ata controller in this thing, like PIO mode 2? This hard drive was like wicked fast two years ago and it IS ATA 100, maybe the ATA controller in my gige mac is only a ATA 33 or 66? Would getting an ATA 100 Controller card and putting it in a PCI slot help this? I do have a pci radeon video card isntalled driving two monitors at 1280*1024, could this video on the PCI bus be clogging the bus making disk reads and writes wicked slow? My main video card is a Geforce 4 MX 440 in the AGP slot...
