I only wish it where that easy. I've gotten it to work like that with a direct connection (cross over cable), but the trouble I'm having I believe is because of the router.

I turned on the Windows file sharing on my Mac. It gave me a share address. I attempted to add the address to my network places in XP. It asks for a log in. I put the user name and pass word from my Mac in and click OK, and I just keep getting the log in box over and over. When I click cancel, it says the "Folder you entered does not appear to be valid."

I think we are on the right track. I'm just wondering if the router is the source of all my problems or if a configuration issue with the Mac or XP. I'm using a Linksys router and Linksys wireless card.

Any thoughts about this appreciated! TIA

Hi Glen,

Just go in the System Preference, Share folder, then click on Windows files sharing to allow a Window user to log on your OSX machine. It's that easy.
