Hi Ted Before ploughing into gfens setup, I think we need to know a little more about what kind of internet connection you have, he assumed you have cable broadband. He also assumed you had a switchable hub. However you never intimated at either of these details, so a little clarification may be needed.
If you are using a USB modem via ADSL then its a completely different setup. Also seeing as you are using a PC and a Mac i'd need to know which operating systems you are using on them respectively to give you the setup configuration tailored for your system. More info needed.
