I figured out what was causing the problem and thought I'ld pass it along
even though it was kinda dumb. Turns out I forgot about Norton Personal
Firewall that I set up a couple years ago when I first went to cox internet.
Since I had it set to max protection, it of course did allow TCP/IP access
even on my home net...so of course the USB printer sharing wouldn't allow my
selection. Firewall doesn't protect appletalk so of course file sharing, etc
worked on the appletalk side.
