After updating Jaguar to Panther then to 10.3.2 I can not get back to Panther after booting to 9.2.2. I do get the black command screen. I do a "fsck -f", which tells me all is well. "reboot" just gets me back to the same command screen. I do a Norton disk check, booting from the Norton 9.2 CD and all is well -- or fixed. Using the Panther CD the disk check indicates no permission or any other errors. The only way I can get Panther back is by re-installing it. This happened both times I booed into 9. Anyone have a better idea? I haven't tried coming back from 9 with the current 10.3.0 installation, and I will try that once I have the stomach for it.
I have a B&W G3/400 with stock UW2 SCSI (one volume, upon which reside both OS's), 640 MB ram, 160 GB LaCie D2 firewire HD.
