Not affiliated, blah blah blah... >> Starting about a year and a half ago, I've had three straight external SCSI drives for my old upgraded 9600 from OWC go dead very soon after I got them. When I ordered the first one, they never sent it and when I called they said it wasn't in stock. When I called back to order a different one, the guy at the other end said THEY were out of stock but recommended the first one I ordered. The drive I finally got cost $329 bucks and died in three and half months. I paid a little extra to get an exchange for a more expensive one. It died in a month and a half. They said the warranty was over. I ordered a third drive for some dumb reason. It died almost immediately. They told me to send it to the manufacturer -- who sent me $140 bucks about two months later. After about 12 months of this I was out about $500. I got a big internal from Tiger Direct dirt cheap that's still running. Live and learn. I understand that SCSI's are old technology, but I did not expect this bad an outcome. If anyone doubts this story I'll send them the documentation -- including the e-mails that went back and forth. Steve C. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
