Hello,

I downloaded a couple of Batman pictures for my son and when I attempted
to open them I got a dialog box saying - Error: Corrupt JPEG data found
and the data found for image gargoyle.jpeg is incorrect.

What gives and how do I correct it?

TIA

Dan

Don't know what OS you have...
If you have a version of photoshop, open the file that way then save it through photoshop.
If you have OSX... drag the file onto the preview icon ( I put the alias in the dock ) or open it through that program.

It happened to me....I had sent a pile of jpegs to a friend and he kept on telling me they came up corrupted.
Knowing I sent them and could view them, I looked into it and told him to open them up in photoshop and then save them

I found some of the picts were saved as Baseline Optimized or progressive from the person I got them before.
My Mac and OSX viewed them no problems, His mac, same as mine but with OS9 couldn't view them.

I opened them up in photoshop and did a save as for jpeg and when the jpeg options window came open, I selected the baseline standard function. problem solved

Hope this helps...

Steve
