According to System Profile that's the OEM super drive in our December 2003, 17" FP iMac. Installation in the FP iMac is a much more involved process. For the MDD's it's literally a pop it in, plug in the connectors and go.
MacWorld just did an article on opening up an FP iMac recently. You can see from the photo's it's a good bit of complexity and takes some effort. Certainly not impossible for a user to do, but if you are not real comfortable working inside? Buy the drive and have a local ASP do the install for you.
