seen this at a mac xpo set up like this:

iMac -> myvideo box -> vhs video player plugged in via s-video and audio
into the iMac's audio port.

we were capturing video (think it was a james bond movie!) at 320x240 at a
pretty darn acceptable data rate. quality was as good as the vhs original.
pretty sure it will capture at higher frame rates.

the only thing to check is the usb connection - pretty sure they we're
bringing out a usb 2 version with much improved quality. you'd have to get a
usb 2 pci card but i imagine it would be worth it.
