I use Discribe occasionally - version 4.5 or earlier will make a custom bootable disk for OS9 or earlier - even a system disk - only burner software I know which will and very handy to have if your 9.1 installer gets fatally scratched - a feature missing on later versions. Also has it's own cd reader extension which will work with most scsi and ide drives - bit of a naff disk icon but you can't have everything. I also have NeroMax for Macintosh but rarely used it. For simple pc cd/dvd rom drives the hacked apple extension works very well - for cdrw it's best to stick with the pc drives which are supported by Apple or the Patchburn utility for OSX - NEC and a few other pc drives are unsupported and can be a hassle. I have two Sony ide CRX 160's and an ide 140 which work fine in my G4 AGP and a Yamaha scsi 2100s which works fine in my 8600 - I also have a Pioneer 106s cd/dvd ide slot loader I've yet to try in the G4 but I don't expect any problems with it apart from the bezel.
