Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm thinking correctly, Apple 
doesn't offer X11 for Jaguar or earlier OS X versions. They had a beta 
for Jaguar for awhile, but once Panther arrived it became a strictly 
Panther only app. You can probably use Fink to install Open Office and 
use a different X Window manager. Here's some links if you haven't been

As far as my experience, I have not tried any of these out. I can't 
help you there. I haven't had the time to mess with these. :(

Sorry, thought you would understand from the subject line, Open Office 
is the
suite.  http://www.openoffice.org  It runs in OSX via X11.  I'm having
problems locating the version of X11 that will run on pre-Panther 
releases.
Apple only has the X11 version which requires Panther.
