Ok. Dumb often-asked question, I guess, but I zoned...

333-MHz G3 iMac running OS X 10.1.something. Belongs to friend. I don't do much OS X stuff, but he likes my high-speed 'net connection, so he brought it over here yesterday.

We merged a lot of files from stray HDs, as well as moving files from user to user. This made for wonky file modes (protections) and the wrong file owners - which in turn stopped apps like Eudora from working. It took me quite a while to remember commands like "sudu chown -R userid *".

Is there a tool for OS X that will automagically peruse the whole /users tree, and reset all the file owners and protections appropriately?

Thx!
- Dan.
