OK.  This was a 30 gig drive on the motherboard bus of my Beige MT (rev 1 board
rev 3 rom.)  I formatted the drive using Disk Utility in 10.2.8.  I did not
partition it.  I chose to include the os 9 drivers. Then I tried to install
10.3.0 using XPostFacto.  The installer said it couldn't install since it needed
to install in the first 8 gigs.

That's it.  So I had to install on anther drive that the machine thinks is scsi
so the 8 gig limit didn't apply.  I'm probably better off using one of my faster
pci mounted drives for Panther anyway, but I still don't know why the installer
didn't think it had those first 8 gigs.
