You may have this installed already. Click the Apple menu, then Extensions, and look for Web Sharing. It's really simple to set up and use.
Use the Web Sharing control panel to find the name of your "Web folder", then create a new folder inside that - we'll call this "transfer" as an example.
Turn on Web sharing and note your IP address.
Go to your PC, then start Internet Explorer. In the address bar, type in "http://<the Mac's IP address here>/transfer . Your files should then all be listed. Right click on each file and chose "Save as..." and save them to your burn directory.
You'll be able to do this as long as you're just trying to archive cross platform files like mp3's, text, jpegs, etc. If you want to archive Mac program files, compress them first and then transfer the compressed files.

Hello:
I am trying to connect a BW G3, OS 9.1 Mac to a Penium Pro (200 mhz) Windows 98 PC. I am using Ethernet cards in both computers connected to a hub.
I have got them both connected, and they ping each other perfectly. The problem I am having is, now that they are connected what software do I need to use? What I want to do is to be able to drag and drop files (mp3, txt, jpeg ect...) from the Mac to the PC. I then want to use the PC's cd burner to copy them to a cd.
Using IE 5, The PC will connect to the mac if I put in the Mac's IP address in the url line. (I can't figure how to get it to do anything more than just show the default page from the Mac). I can't get the Mac to acknowledge the PC at all. I have set different IP address's for both of the machines, which I was told to do. Now, I am at a loss where to go from here.
I am sorry for the long post but I wanted to explain what I have done so far.
Thanks in advance, Max
