odd, i've never observed that.  does it happen with older versions or only netscape 7?

haven't tried V7.  i'd suspect that netscape isn't using the i/o routines properly, but
it's still odd.  i assume this hasn't been duplicated in os x?  X should do a better 
job
of keeping programs from interacting in unwanted ways.  it could be related to an
extension or control panel as well.
