A friend of mine with a Blue and White G3 wants to upgrade the operating system from OS 8.6 to OS 9.2.2. Can he do this upgrade in one jump or does he need to upgrade to OS 9.0 as an intermediate step?

Is there even a point to upgrading to 9.2.2? I'd always heard that it was best to stick with 9.1 if you had the opportunity to, more stable or faster or something, can't remember why, so I left that on my G3 and never upgraded even when I installed OS X, and also on my mom's iMac.

Ignore 9.2.2. The engineers at Apple spent all that time fixing all those bugs, and improving Open Transport for nothing.

Sorry, I'm just in one of those cranky moods.
