So, mention a week or so of WireTap, the util from Ambrosia software (I think it was) that would take any sound out and make it an mp3.

Is that a nice way to take purchased music from iTunes Store and move it to mp3 format?

I've been putting off looking at/purchasing anything from iTunes storefront, especially as I am not going to be buying an iPod anytime soon...

but several things made me think about looking at what they have:

- the Wiretap util mentioned here
- the rumor last week that all the Grateful Dead live concert sets are being digitized for iTunes store :)

would/could/does it sound OK to move from .aac to mp3 this way ? (it was my understanding that purchased tracks were locked and not convertable, but grabbing the sound out would be a workaround...)

I'd like to buy a few things but want to play it on something portable.

Thanks,

Brian
