I've been having a terrible time trying to install OS 10.2 on my beige g3.
Its a 266 mhz DT Rev. 1 ROM, 160 mb RAM, ATI Radeon 7000 video, 40 gb WD ATA
HDD, 9.1 gb WD Scsi HDD. I just did a fresh install of OS 9.2.2 last night.
I've followed all warnings at lowendmac.com and partitioned the 40 Gb drive
with its own 8 gb partition. I'm able to install the first disk of jaguar
but the second disk gets about halfway thru the installation process and
just keeps attempting to reinstall the same epson printer drivers over and
over again. Any ideas? All help is appreciated!
G'day from Oz.
I had a similar problem installing Jag on my old G3.
Turned out that the CD was not clean enough. Ir looked clean, but a thorough clean worked wonders. Use a lint free cloth & clean from the inside straight to the outside.
There's no error trapping on the install CD's, so any read error sends the installer into a loop.
Hope this helps
