I have a Sonnet Temp PCI ATA controller running two Maxtor 120 GB drives. The Master drive is my day-to-day drive and I use Psync to backup the entire drive to the Slave drive. In the past, I was able to boot back and forth from one drive to the other with no problems.
I did a successful back up the other day. I can see the slave drive in the Startup Disk system preferences. I've tried booting to both the 10.3 folder and the OS 9.2 folder on the slave drive with no success. When I select the slave drive in Startup disk and reboot I get a flashing ? for a few seconds then the Mac boots to the Master drive.
The one reason I desire to boot to my slave drive is that I think my master drive is acting up and want to reformat it and re-image the slave drive back to the master drive.
I have tried zapping the PRAM and resetting the open firmware.
Any thoughts on why I can't boot to the slave drive?
Thanks,
Glenn
