Glen, Here is what I want to do with my G-3 Beige DT, rev 1 or A whatever.
I would like to see my cd active. I am able to have it work when I start up from it by depressing C at start up. Only of course with Norton or Disk Warrior.
I have had a wonderful number or responses, tried most of them but still no banana.
I now understand why my optical mouse was inactive, That seems to be after a cd start up as above. The USB extension is deactivated.
I was advised to get an older ATA 66. When I posted that to lemlists, I received a question of its purpose I could not answer. So that is where I am.
Last suggestion was to disable the Apple CD extension, as it is not an Apple CD-R/RW drive. I did that, but still no CD icon, and when I put a CD in, I hear the drive spin, but no icon on the desk top.
The drive must be properly in place if it works well with Norton and Disk Warrior, so what is my problem. I wish I knew.
Terrie
