I just discovered tonight that my floppy drive doesn't work in 10.2.8, but still works normally in 9.2.x - this is on a beige G3/266 MT. Does anyone know why this could be happening?
I only use my floppy once a month to get a file from one person who is stuck using a dinosaur computer, but I'd still prefer to solve the problem. I've run all the updates on software updater, and I'm not sure what else to try. I tried apple disk utilities software and it doesn't see the drive when in OSX either...
TIA, Andrew
Support for internal floppy drives was discontinued with the release of X. You could add a USB zip floppy drive relatively inexpensively. Pretty much most of the ones I've seen are cross platform.
