I have just replaced my beige with a Digital Audio 533. My first purchase was a iMate ADB to usb adapter to use my old extended keyboard.

Anyway, I have not been able to get the startup chime to quite down from full volume. I am running 10.2.8 and have Set the Alert Volume and Output volume levels to one notch above off and even with the Mute button clicked, I still get full volume startup chime. I had the startup chime at the same level as the system alerts in my beige, which is very quite because I am on the computer when everyone else is asleep.

How do I get it to quiet down?

Thanks,
Len
