Are you using a firewire cable? If you are, imovie or premiere or final cut should recognize it and then if your dv camera has an analog in, you should be able to just hook up your high 8 camera (or older composite out type cameras) and pass it through the dv camera to your recording software.. Make sure that your firewire extensions are enabled.
