Having looked at an old MacWorld at the reviews of the Digital Audio
machines there was a quick mention that when you upgrade a 733 DA, that you
could not put the processor into a 533 or 466 DA.
Len,
I did this very same upgrade in January.
The 533 is a 7410 Apple chipset and the 933 should be a 7455 chipset. I say
go for it. I'm hoping that it will carry me through the next year or so,
until I can afford a G5 or a DP G4 .
Did you put in an Apple 933 pull from a QS? After googling (can I still say that with the IPO coming up?) for about a half hour, I finally came across a reference to a similar swap where they had to add a 12 volt power feed to one of the mounting holes on the CPU card. Did you have to do this?
Thanks, Len
