I'd like to get a second internal HD for the B&W G3 which has an internal 9GB SCSI drive, and it seems to make sense to get an ATA one since it will be more readily future compatible.

---What is the advantage of one with a 8 MB data buffer over one with a 2MB data buffer?

---The manual has instructions only for the addition of a SCSI drive, where it has you unplug both power and ribbon cables before adding a drive. Is that necessary when adding an ATA drive?

---Do all B&W G3s have a drive carrier retainer, that the manual says to remove in preparation for the installation of a new HD? I can't see one in this B&W G3.
