I installed it as per the instructions and when I rebooted I got a gray "no" symbol on the screen. (Circle with line through it.)

Being new to the Apple world, i didn't know what else to do but reformat and install 9.2, then 10.0, 10.2 and update to 10.2.8 where I currently am.

Any other suggestions?

Ok - my copy of Panther has arrived. My WS has
10.2.8 already installed.

1. Can't boot off the CD. (Tried the "C" key during boot
- still boots
from the HDD.)
2. Tried telling the machine via System Preferences to
boot from the CD.

It won't boot from the CD no matter what I've tried.

When I insert the CD and run it from the desktop. It
tells me "Mac OSX
10.3 cannot be installed on this machine."

Which was the same error I got when I tried to install
10.0 but used
the disk tools to prepare the drive and it installed
fine. (10.0).

The current setup of this machine is:

RAM - 96MB (256 ordered and will get that on Mon
4/26)
HDD - 6GB drive, devoted to HFS. I guess I'll have to
change that,
since now I can't run any
'Classic' programs.

Any suggestions would be great. I'm looking on eBay
for a bigger drive
(~20GB), unless someone on here
has one for sale...
