Few burners of any kind are now made in SCSI. The Yamaha 8824S is among the few. The DVD burners are EIDE, in my experience, and the Pioneer DVR-105 or -106 is perhaps the best of the best. If you put an EIDE DVD drive in a PCI card which converts it to SCSI, you will be able to read DVDs, but not burn either CDs or DVDs.
