I haven't been able to figure out what causes it, but
thanks for the info on mozilla browsers - I'll try to
pay more attention to what I'm doing that causes this
(and then never do it again!)

Is this a replicatable problem? Does it right itself
or do you have to force quit the application?
If you can replicate the problem, then stop doing
whatever it is that your doing that makes it all go
very wrong ;o).
