I added a new drive in my G4/AGP and put OS X on it; I forgot to put Classic on the drive at that time.

I still have Classic around on the original drive but I want to pull that drive out; I have a pretty customized 10.2.8 on the new drive now, but some reading and I've only found info indicating that I can only add Classic on at install time?

You can install Classic after OSX. Just get your OS9 install CD that came with Jaguar and run the installer. It will prompt you to do a "Clean Install" which will leave OSX alone.
